PSG-Real Madrid: Neymar fit for Champions League clash
According to RMC Sport, Neymar trained with his teammates on Sunday and is expected to be included in the squad for Real Madrid after 10 weeks out.
PSG forward Neymar is expected to be named in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad for the Champions League clash against Real Madrid at the Parc des Princes on 15 February after joining full training at Camp des Loges on Sunday. Neymar has not played for PSG since 28 November against Saint-Étienne but is on the verge of a comeback having recovered from an ankle injury.
MNM to play some part against Real Madrid
According to RMC Sport, Pochettino will name Neymar in his squad for the Real Madrid game, although he is likely to start from the bench rather than in the initial XI. The Brazilian completed the full session on Saturday and PSG’s doctors are satisfied his ankle can withstand competitive action, leading to the possibility that Pochettino can play Neymar, Leo Messi and Kylian Mbappé together at some stage against Madrid.
One player who has been definitively ruled out of Tuesday’s encounter is former Madrid captain Sergio Ramos. The defender has been back in training but is not yet at the same stage as Neymar and has been mostly doing individual work with the physios as he looks to shake off a calf issue. Ramos is hoping to be fit to play some part against his former club in the return leg at the Santiago Bernabéu.
