All-Star Saturday night was the precursor to the NBA All-Star game on Sunday. Saturday night featured contests with stars throughout the NBA. It began with the Skills Challenge, then the 3-point Contest, and finally the Slam Dunk Contest.

The Slam Dunk Contest featured Cole Anthony (Orlando Magic), Juan Toscano-Anderson (Golden State Warriors), Obi Toppin (New York Knicks), and Jalen Green (Houston Rockets). Tippin was the top dunker, going through the legs and tapping the ball off the backboard for a one-handed slam to give him a final score of 47 and win the Slam Dunk Contest. Toscano-Anderson was unable to make three attempts in a row before his final dunk.

With the win, Tippin became the third Knicks player to ever earn the title. He had lost last year to Portland Trailblazers' Anfernee Simmons and was determined to come out  on top this time around.
