'The chances of Mbappé leaving PSG were 99%, they're now 65'
Former France and Monaco player Jérôme Rothen, who is also close to Mbappe's entourage offered his view on the situation speaking to RMC Sports.
Former AS Monaco and France international Jérôme Rothen, spoke to Radio RMC and offered his view on the possibility of Kylian Mbappé moving to Real Madrid this summer with the former player close to Mbappé's day-to-day life and his entourage.
The 43-year-old stated: "From what I understand, the relationship between Mbappé and PSG has improved recently and is getting better. There was a 99% chance that he would leave recently but that has changed to approximately a 65% probability, so PSG still have along way to go in convincing the player to stay with the club. The Parisian club's desire to retain their star striker was further accentuated by his recent display against 'Los Blancos' in the recent Champions League Round of 16 tie where Mbappé delivered a dazzling performance, capped off with a winning goal in time added on.
Rothen added that PSG's achievements this season will also be instrumental factors in determining whether if the French forward decides to move to the Spanish capital or stay in his native Paris. At present Pochettino's side top the Ligue 1 table with a 12 point cushion over second placed Marseille and take a 1-0 lead into the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16 game against Real Madrid with the second leg set to take place on 9 March.
