Dallas scored just 14 points in a third quarter in which they gave up the lead. The Lakers looked like they took control of the game back, the Dallas defense turned up in the final 12 minutes.
Doncic was quiet until the final minutes of the game, but Brunson and Dorian Finney-Smith carried the late load for Dallas until the Slovenian took over the spotlight. Luka made a couple of nearly impossible shots to take the lead back from the Lakers with under four minutes to play.
The Lakers couldn’t find any good looks around the basket in the final couple minutes and their comeback efforts were cut short.

Doncic led the Mavs with 25, 8 rebounds and 5 assists while Brunson had 22 on 4-6 shooting from downtown to secure the fourth win on the five game road trip.
The Mavs have now won 21 of their last 28 dating back to early December, while the Lakers continue to fall down the Western Conference Standings dropping their 10th game in their last 13.

We are headed to halftime in Los Angeles. The good news for the Lakers is they haven't been booed by their fans. The bad news is they trailed by as many as 21, and go to the break down 15.

Brunson is slow to get up after a drive to the rim and Johnson landed right on his ankle. He's back on his feet and will stay in the game.
If they continue to play defense like they did on that Powell dunk, the boos might be coming sooner rather than later.

It's been a choppy start to this game. Lots of fouls and stoppages in the opening two minutes. That doesn't really favor either of these teams, but LA will be anxious to get off to a better start early in the first quarter.
It comes as no surprise that LeBron can fill in where ever he is needed on the court with his size and strength, but this will take away from him on the perimeter. That could force the perimeter players to be a bit more independent and not so reliant on LeBron.

Big comeback for Big D
Dallas looked done and dusted going into the fourth quarter at the Chase Center, but a huge comeback saw the Mavs stun Steph Curry and the Warriors. Luka and the Mavs outscored Golden State 33-13 in the fourth quarter Doncic ended the game with 34 points and 11 rebounds while newcomer Spencer Dinwiddie had 10 of his 24 in the final quarter.

LeBron James and Russell Westbrook both took turns jawing at the home fans who booed the Lakers lackluster performance. The fans are not booing without reason. LA has lost nine of their last 12 games and sit 9th in the West at 27-33 on the year.
