Leeds preparing another offer for USMNT ace Brenden Aaronson
Now that Jesse Marsch is in charge of the Premier League side, it is expected that they will make a $26 million offer for the United States international.
Brenden Aaronson has been linked with a move to Leeds United since the winter transfer window, but RB Salzburg rejected a $20 million bid. The Premier League side, then managed by Marcelo Bielsa, failed to bring in the United States international and it was reported that they will try again in the summer.
Leeds to make a second attempt for Aaronson
Things have changed at the Elland Road club because earlier this week Bielsa was sacked and they appointed former USMNT midfielder Jesse Marsch. The American coach signed a deal with Leeds until June 2025 and this means that Aaronson will be a top priority during the summer transfer window.
According to multiple reports, the Premier League side are preparing a $26 million bid to sign the 21-year-old for the next season but this will only be possible if they manage to avoid relegation. Aaronson is having a brilliant campaign with Salzburg, with five goals and nine assists in 29 appearances across all competitions so far this year.
So it is all up to Marsch and company to help Leeds play in England’s top flight next campaign. Currently they sit in 16th place in the Premier League standings, with a record of five wins, eight draws and 13 losses. The club is two points above the relegation zone and Marsch's debut will be on 5 March against Leicester City.
