Cristiano Ronaldo vs Harry Kane: how many goals and assists have they managed this season?

Both Manchester United and Tottenham will be desperate for maximum points at Old Trafford on Saturday as they look to stay in contention for a Champions League place.

Update:
Cristiano Ronaldo vs Harry Kane: how many goals and assists have they managed this season?

Manchester United were handed some good news as defender Raphael Varane has returned to training after recovering from covid-19, the Premier League team said ahead of Saturday's clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

Varane, who has been limited to 22 appearances in all competitions for United this season due to groin and hamstring issues, missed the 4-1 derby defeat by Manchester City last weekend due to illness.

United's heaviest defeats this season have come when World Cup-winner Varane has been absent from the squad.

Uruguayan Edinson Cavani could also return to the matchday squad after missing the City game due to a groin injury, while fellow forward Cristiano Ronaldo trained separately as he recovers from a hip problem.

United are fifth in the league table with 47 points from 28 matches, while Tottenham are two places and two points below them with two games in hand.

United looking to bounce back

Following last Sunday's reverse in the Manchester derby where United were outclassed in an extremely one sided second half, Ralf Rangnick's men will hoping for a positive result ahead of Tuesday's Champions League Round of 16 clash against Atlético Madrid and not a repeat of the last meeting at Old Trafford when Tottenham ran riot with a 1-6 win. Four of Spurs' 10 Premier League wins over Manchester United have come at Old Trafford.

CR7 vs Kane

At present, there is still a question mark hanging over the Portuguese striker's fitness and whether he will be ready for Saturday's game with certain media outlets claiming that the 'hip-injury' is a smokescreen from United to cover the tension between the German coach and Ronaldo.

The Madeira born striker does however remain as United's main goal threat having bagged 15 in total all seasons across all competitions (9 alone in the Premier League) with the veteran striker on hand to deliver three assists.

Spurs fans will look to Harry Kane to trouble the Red Devils rear-guard with the England striker having already found the net 20 times this season in all competitions, with 50% of the goals coming in the domestic league. The Chingford born striker has also provided three assists and shares a similar shots per game ratio as Cristiano (3.4 vs 3.3).
