The whistle sounds and Madrid run out 0-3 winners

A ten point advantage with ten games left this season. Into the 1/4 of the Champions League and currently playing with huge confidence levles....

Mallorca appeal for a spot kick as it appears that Kang in Lee was upended... Referee waves play on as 5 minutes of time will be added

Kang-in Lee strikes and wins a corner with a very quiet Son Moix now as a handful of fans make for an early exit.

Nacho seems to be in trouble and it looks like Benzema has tweaked something too... Madrid have no more changes as the clock ticks down..... The French striker seems to have picked up an ankle problem. This does not look good with El Clasico coming up on Sunday.

Benzema makes it 0-3 with a fine ball from Marcelo as the French striker heads well with Sergio Rico unable to avert the danger.

Ten minutes remain in Mallorca and ten is the point advantage that Madrid will hold over Sevilla at the top of the LaLiga table.

Mendy looks to be in trouble with a muscular issue and will be replaced by Marcelo.

Benzema's 21st LaLiga goal of the season !

Benzema from the spot to make it 0-2

Benzema to take ... Olivan the culprit in giving away the spot kick..... The French striker .....scores

Pernalty as Vinicius is clipped following fine work from Benzema. A hush falls over the stadium as the penalty is awarded.

Mallorca looking to get back into he game but Courtois has been a virtual spectator in the second half with the Belgian not really tested by the home side.

Mixed reaction from the Son Moix to Asensio who cut his teeth with RCD Mallorca.

Asensio and Carvajal set to enter the action.....Lucas Vazquez and Rodrygo to make way...Rodrygo seems to be in considerable anguish.

Raillo carded as he clashes into Rodrygo

Muriqi is slow to react to a dangerous ball into the box and Madrid clear the danger.

Angel and Sanchez make way for Sevilla and Abdon.

Apart from a few flashes of quality in the first half, it's been a poor display from Kubo.

Salva Sevilla and Abdon set to enter the action.

Mallorca subs warming up with no changes so far tonight from Luis Garcia Plaza.

Good work from Olivan who gets the ball to the by-line but the move breaks down as he miscues and the ball is out of play.

Baba strikes from the edge of the box and forces Courtois to respond.

The goal has rattled Mallorca who have struggled to find that rhythm saw them control the action for swathes of the first 45'.

Camavinga on too for Casemiro

Sub: Valverde out with Modric his replacement

Ancelotti was indeed carded earlier

Gooooooooool. Vinicius fires Real Madrid ahead as the Brazilian slots past Sergio Rico. Baba robbed by Valverde, Benzema finds Vini and the No. 20 drills home. Mallorca players appealing for a free on Baba.

Looks like the ref has carded Ancelotti for protesting. Let's just get confirmation on that ...

Lucas Vazquez carded as he takes down Kubo with the Japansese player set to sprint on Courtis' goal.

Mallorca's Olivan and Maffeo are doing a sterling defensive job tonight.

Modric, Camavinga and Asensio warming up.

Angel almost finds Muriqi as both sides look to find that all elusive goal.

No changes it would appear at the break as the teams return to the pitch at Son Moix/Visit Mallorca Estadi with a confirmed attendance of 17,000.

Casemiro and Mendy still avoiding the yellow card that would rule them out of Sunday's game with another yellow card meaning a suspension for both players.

A real game of 'sings and roundabouts' with a strong start from the visitors. Then Mallorca eased their way into the contest and enjoyed a solid 20 minute spell with Madrid ending the half the better of the sides.

The whistle sounds for the break in Mallorca and despite the 0-0 scoreline, it's been a decent 45 minutes of football

2 minutes of time to be added

Great work from Vinicius who skips past a series of Mallorca player and tees up Alaba who drives the ball into the sea of red shirts.

Vini almost gets a shot off from the penalty spot but a diving interception from Maffeo saves the day and the danger is averted.

Another shot from Kross and this effort not as close as the first one with the German driving the ball into the amassed Mallorca fans behind Sergio Rico's goal.

Pablo Maffeo hits the post after great work from the home side with Rodriguez and Muriqi instrumental in the build-up. Best chance of the night.

Mallorca now starting to believe as they refuse to let Madrid have any time on the ball.

An even contest now despite the early dominance from the visitors.

Cards for Vinicius and Angel after a tangle between both players.

Vini Jr. finds Kroos and the German stretching shoots inches wide. Better from Ancelotti's men.

Olivan gets off a shot but with no real direction or pace and the ball is easy for Courtois to gather. The home side now enjoying the better of the game.

Casemiro seems to have picked up a knock and goes to ground.... the Brazilian gets up from the pitch and seems okay to carry on.

Kubo looking very lively tonight and along with Muriqi, look the likeliest to cause danger for the Real Madrid rear guard.

Mallorca work the free to Kubo but the Japanese international clips the ball wide with no danger.

Madrid go close twice in quick succession as Benzema and Mendy almost open the scoring. The visitors starting to dominate proceedings already.

Decent play from Muriqui as he wins a throw deep inside the Real Madrid half. Going to be interesting to see the striker take on the likes of Carvajal and co tonight.

Kubo fouls Vazquez and the decision is greet with a volley of boos from the home fans.

Off we go in Palma... Madrid in their classic all white kit. Mallorca in their red shirts, black shorts and socks combo.

All set in Mallorca with the visitors set to kick-off.

Decent crowd in Son Moix or the Visit Mallorca Estadi to give it it's corporate name with a massive 'Cap Amunt' (Come on-Upwards) banner being displayed and a real sense of occasion in the ground. The teams take to the pitch.

Real Madrid return to action after their epic Champions League round of 16 tie last week against PSG where Ancelotti's men had to dig deep and managed to advance with three late goals from Karim Benzema. The French striker starts tonight.

Mallorca's danger man

Vedat Muriqi arrived at the island club during the winter transfer market and has been a major source of danger for rival clubs with Mallorca now considering extending his loan deal from Lazio (Serie A) to a permanent move. Mallorca staying up in the top flight will be very much a determining factor in the Kosovo international's future.

The LaLiga leaders did not specify why the Brazil centre-back will not feature in the match.

"Militao is not available for Real Madrid's LaLiga matchday 28 game this evening at the Visit Mallorca Stadium," a Madrid statement said.

Carlo Ancelotti's side are riding on the crest of a wave after beating Paris Saint-Germain 3-1 to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Madrid are seven points clear of Sevilla at the top of LaLiga ahead of their game in hand at Mallorca.

Real Madrid can pull ten points clear of second placed Sevilla with a win and Mallorca too will be desperate to secure maximum points as the hover perilously above the relegation zone.
