2022 Champions League quarter-final draw: Can teams from the same country play against each other?
Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Manchester City were joined in the last eight this week by Atlético Madrid, Benfica, Chelsea and Villarreal.
The 2021/22 Champions League has eight teams remaining after the round of 16 was completed this week. Three English sides, three Spanish sides, one German and one Portuguese are all bidding to make their way to the final in Paris.
Open draw
The draw is open at this stage of the competition. There are no seedings and teams from the same national association can play each other.
The draw takes place on Friday 18 March and the remaining eight teams will learn their paths for the semi-finals. A draw will also be held to determine the 'home' team for the final, for procedural reasons.
This year's final will kick off at 21:00 CET on Saturday 28 May in the Stade de France in Paris.

When are the Champions League quarter-finals?
The first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals will take place on 5/6 April, with the return legs a week later on 12/13 April. Semi-finals will be played on 26/27 April and 3/4 May.
