Dinwiddie hits game-winning buzzer beater over Nets

Spencer Dinwiddie was known for taking exactly these kinds of clutch shots with the Nets, but last night, he did it for the Mavs, to beat the Nets.

Update:
Dinwiddie hits game-winning buzzer beater over Nets

Spencer Dinwiddie is on fire for the Mavericks! Just a few nights ago, Dinwiddie decided the game. beating the Celtics by hitting a three off a pass from Doncic with just 11 seconds left. On Wednesday night during the Mavericks game against the Nets in Brooklyn, he did it again.

Dinwiddie's clutch shots

Dinwiddie played for the Nets from 2016-2021 and he was well-known for making just this kind of difference-making shot to win games. Last night made his first trip to Brooklyn to play against them, and after what he did, he probably made them miss him a little bit.

When there were just over ten seconds left in the game, Kevin Durant hit a three-pointer to put the Nets ahead, 111-110. Luka Doncic took it back up the court with Durant all over him, but that left Dinwiddie wide open, and he's not to be taken for granted. Doncic swung the ball over to Dinwiddie with three seconds left on the clock and Dinwiddie drilled it in with a buzzer-beater three-pointer over Goran Dragic on the right wing. The Mavs won it over the Nets, 113-111.

Doncic scored the most points with 37, had nine assists, and nine rebounds. But it was Dinwiddie who stole the spotlight. He finished with 22 points, and more importantly, the game-winner.

Dinwiddie left the Nets in 2021 on a season-ending injury. He started playing with the Washington Wizards, but was traded to the Mavs in February of 2022. He celebrated the win by approaching Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison and thanked him for having the faith in him to bring him to the team.

"People said I was a bad guy, people said I was washed, all that stuff after 30 games coming off an ACL, which sucks," Dinwiddie said. "But Nico didn't have to have that faith. He didn't have to pull that trigger, especially with a player the caliber of Porzingis, an All-Star-caliber player. Like I said, I was appreciative of him."
