Tom Brady reacts to Bruce Arians retirement

As the shock of Bruce Arians retirement announcement reverberates around the league, there are a whole host of opinions coming in. Among them, perhaps none carry more weight than that of the QB considered to be the greatest ever in the NFL history and also the last to play under the coach himself, Tom Brady. After Arians' retirement was made official on Wednesday, Brady was one of the first Buccaneers players to respond to the shocking news. The seven-time Super Bowl winner took to social media where he made a lengthy post, in which he was candid about his feelings towards Arians and the two years that he spent playing under him.

"Thank you, BA for all that you have done for me and our team," Brady wrote. "You are an incredible man and coach, and it was a privilege to play for you. You are a true NFL legend and pioneer for all the work you have done to make the league more diverse and inclusive." Brady also went on to reveal that it was in fact Arians who played a central part in his decision to sign with the Buccaneers during his free agency back in March of 2020. "Smart, tough, and loyal are a few of the words to describe your style," Brady wrote. "I will always remember the conversations we had when you recruited me two years ago and all of the things we discussed came true. We all benefited from your leadership and guidance and I'm so proud of everything we accomplished. You were a huge part of the decision to join the Bucs and I'm forever grateful."

Bruce Arians gave Tom Brady a leg up

If there is one thing that is certain about Brady's time under Arians in Tampa Bay, its that he most definitely benefited from the coach's influence. Indeed, Brady's two years with Arians couldn't have been much more successful, with the first year ending in a 2020 Super Bowl victory and the second with Brady being named the oldest player in NFL history to lead in passing yards. With that, Brady didn't hold back in his emotion as he wished his former coach the best for the future.
