2023 Screen Actors Guild Award Nominations: The Full List
The Screen Actors Guild Awards are back for another year, and the nominees for the 2023 awards have been revealed.
On Jan. 11, “Emily In Paris” star Ashley Park and “The White Lotus” actress Haley Lu Richardson took over both Netflix and the SAG awards Instagram accounts to live stream themselves announcing this year’s nominees for each category.
Although the SAG awards have yet to announce their host, it has been confirmed that the award show will take place on Feb. 26 at Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles. For those who cannot attend the live event,Netflix will stream the show live on their YouTube channel starting at 5 p.m. Pacific time.
What are the SAG awards
Since it first started in 1952, the Screen Actors Guild Award was created to recognize outstanding performances in movies and prime-time television. Since then they have added various categories, but all awards are voted on and given out by the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.
Who leads the way in SAG nominations
Given the award season both films have had, it’s no surprise that “The Banshees of Inisherin” and “Everything Everywhere All at Once” lead this year’s list for the Screen Actors Guild Awards with five nominations each.
“The Banshees of Inisherin” has already won 95 awards this season with a few notable honors being: Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy, Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy for Colin Farrell’s performance, and Best Screenplay - Motion Picture at the Golden Globes.
“Everything Everywhere All at Once” has already won 215 awards, which includes: Best Supporting Actor for Ke Huy Quan’s performance, Best Picture, and Best Original Screenplay at the Critics Choice Awards. As well as Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture for Ke Huy Quan’s performance and Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy for Michelle Yeoh at the Golden Globes.
First-time nominees
This year’s list is full of talented actors and actresses but also a fair amount of first-time nominees, such as Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan for “Everything Everywhere All at Once”, Colin Farrell for “The Banshees of Inisherin”, Austin Butler for “Elvis”, Quinta Brunson for “Abbott Elementary”, Amanda Seyfried for “The Dropout”, Zendaya for “Euphoria” and more.

Snubs:
Although most of the top movies and television shows made it on to this year’s nominees list, there are a few names that are missing this year.
Michelle Williams in ‘The Fabelmans’: Even though Paul Dano is nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role, it’s shocking to find Williams missing from the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role category.
Brad Pitt is also missing in the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role category for his role in “Babylon”. Although the film hasn’t received the best reviews from critics, it did manage to land a nomination in the Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture category.
Along with her “Babylon” co-star, Margot Robbie was also snubbed this year with her name missing from the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role category.
Finally, Selena Gomez has now gone a second year without a solo nomination for the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series category for her role in Only Murders in the Building. Still, the show did manage to get two nominations for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series for Steve Martin and Martin Short, and a nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
