A baby wasn’t the only thing Rihanna revealed during the Super Bowl

Many people anticipated what Rihanna would have in store in honor of her to the stage during the Super Bowl LVII halftime show, from rumored guests, to what songs would be performed and what kind of theatrics would be used.

Marking five years since her last live performance, the halftime show saw a huge undertaking for Rihanna and her team to make her return one to remember.

With aerial stages, a medley of the artists’ hit songs, a huge team of dancers, and a surprise reveal that Rihanna was expecting her second child, the multitalented artist had another surprise for the audience which delighted fans of her Fenty Beauty brand.

An all-red look

Rihanna’s return to the stage saw her styled in an all-red outfit thanks to stylist and Creative Director Jahleel Weaver.

The look included a custom red Loewe bustier, a red mock turtleneck jumpsuit, a pair of red MM6 Maison Margiela X Salomon Lace-Up Sneakers, and three different red jackets, including an oversized red jacket by Ailïa, inspired by American fashion journalist André Leon Talley.

The all-red ensemble was contrasted with the all-white outfits of her dancers.

Inspiration for the red theme was the stage itself, which was lit red when Rihanna and the dancers performed before returning to the air.

“That red stage called for the ultimate Rihanna red lip,” Fenty Beauty’s Global Makeup Artist Priscilla Ono explained.

“We wanted her beauty look to celebrate this moment and be a true reflection of her timeless beauty. And to me, there’s nothing more iconic to Rihanna than her soft matte skin and bold red lip.”

The red lip in question was a new shade in the Fenty Icon Velvet Liquid Lipstick line called “MVP,” which was released on February 10 and debuted on the Fenty Beauty Founder herself at the halftime show.

Halfway through the performance, Rihanna can be seen powdering her face with Fenty Beauty Invisimatte Instant Setting + Blotting Powder.

But before the artist took to the air and the stage, Ono prepped Rihanna’s skin with the Fenty Skin Pre-Show Glow Instant Retexturizing 10% AHA Treatment, Fenty Skin Hydra Vizor, Fenty Beauty Pr Kiss-r Lip-Loving Scrubstick and Fenty Skin Plush Puddin’ Lip Mask, which Rihanna recently promoted in an Instagram post.
