Amanda Bynes was found roaming the streets of Los Angeles naked on Sunday, before being placed on a psychiatric hold.

Bynes cancelled a public appearance on Saturday

TMZ reports that Bynes was seen walking near downtown Los Angeles early on Sunday morning without any clothes on.

She then flagged down a car and told the driver she was coming down from a psychiatric episode. The 36-year-old called 911 herself, and was taken to a local police station, where a mental health team placed her on a 5150 psychiatric hold.

It’s reported she is still in the facility’s care, with a 5150 hold typically lasting 72 hours, though it can be extended based on the patient.

The episode comes after Bynes was set to reunite with the cast of ‘All That’ at the ‘90s Con on Saturday. She starred on the sketch comedy show from 1996 to 2000.

The series, which ran from 1994 to 2005, was billed as ‘Saturday Night Live’ for kids and featured short sketches, as well as musical guests.

She spoke about her eagerness to reunite with her former Nickelodeon castmates in the leadup to the event, however she pulled out at the last minute, citing an ‘unknown illness’.

“I’m really excited to reunite with my cast mates and meet the fans at ‘90s Con,” she told People back in January.

Bynes’ appearance would have been first since end of conservatorship

Her reunion alongside Kenan Thompson, Kel Mitchell, Danny Tamberelli and Lori Beth Denberg was highly-anticipated, and would have been her first public appearance since the end of her almost nine-year conservatorship in March 2022.

Bynes’ parents, Rick and Lynn Bynes, supported the move. Lynn served as Amanda’s conservator, while Rick was an interested party in the case.

The actress even thanked her fans for their love and support ahead of the hearing, which ultimately decided she no longer needed the legal setup.

“What’s up, Instagram? Amanda Bynes here,” she said in an Instagram video. “My court date is coming up in two weeks. I want to thank you all so much for your love and support. Peace out.”

Following the end of her conservatorship, Bynes and fiancé, Paul Michael, ended their engagement in July 2022. After the breakup, Bynes appeared to be doing well, as she had decided to enroll in cosmetology school in order to become a manicurist.
