Paul Rudd is back for the latest instalment of the Ant-Man franchise, with Jonathan Majors, who plays the villainous Kang the Conqueror, joining him.

The next film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ is set to hit theaters, with fans anxiously waiting to see what’s in store for Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly.

The film is the third entry in the Ant-Man series, following ‘Ant-Man’ in 2015 and ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ in 2018, and the 31st instalment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Who’s in the ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ cast?

Directed by Peyton Reed, Paul Rudd returns as Scott Lang, while Evangeline Lilly reprises her role as Hope van Dyne.

They are joined by her parents, Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne, played by Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer respectively.

Lang’s daughter Cassie is played by Kathryn Newton. Jonathan Majors plays the time-travelling, multiversal adversary Kang the Conqueror, who is trapped in the Quantum Realm. He is the alternative-timeline variant of He Who Remains, a character who was first introduced in Season 1 of Loki.

Other cast members include David Dastmalchian, William Jackson Harper, Katy O’Brian and Bill Murray.

What’s the plot?

The film is the first in the MCU’s Phase Five, which means the stakes are ramping up as The Multiverse Saga begins to take shape.

The film sees Scott Lang, played by Rudd, joined by Hope van Dyne, as well as Hope’s parents, Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne, as they explore the Quantum Realm.

Lang’s daughter, Cassie, comes along for the ride, but they are all pushed to the limits due to the arrival of Kang the Conqueror.

When will ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ be released?

‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ hits theatres on Friday February 17.

From there the film is expected to be available on Disney+ in the future, as most MCU theatrical releases appear on the Disney streaming platform a few months after their theatrical premiere.

The first trailer for the movie was released in October 2022 and showcases the comedic tone fans have associated with the Ant-Man series.

The second trailer was released in January 2023 and begins with an ominous voiceover from Kang the Conqueror, who has been described by Loki season one head writer Michael Waldron as the “next big cross-movie villain.”
