On Tuesday’s episode of ‘The Late Late Show with James Corden’, Bad Bunny took on the Carpool Karaoke segment, belting out Ariana Grande and Harry Styles songs as he drove through Los Angeles with Corden.

The appearance marks the Puerto Rican artist’s third time on the show, appearing previously in 2020 and 2021.

This year, Bad Bunny has been enjoying a number of successes, including a Grammy performance, a Grammy win, becoming the first Latino to win an IFPI award, and having 10 music videos reach 1 billion views on YouTube.

On the origin of the name Bad Bunny

One of the first questions Corden asked Bad Bunny, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, was why he decided to pursue a career with the stage name Bad Bunny.

“My first concept of the artist I wanted to be was like, this kind of artist, that they don’t reveal [their] identity. I wanted to use like a bunny mask,” the ‘Soy Peor’ artist began to explain, explaining that his original concept was to be like DJ Marshmello, who wears a marshmallow mask.

“You know I never wanted to be so famous but then I just went with the flow,” Bad Bunny said on giving up the idea of using a mask, after Corden asked him why he would want to “hide such a beautiful face.”

“Bad Bunny ... no matter how bad is still looking cute,” he said, Corden confirming that no matter how bad a bunny is, it’s still cute.

That’s me ... I’m a good guy. I’m cute,” Bad Bunny confirmed while posing for the camera inside the car.

Plenty of karaoke

Living up to the segment’s name, the two sang along to Bad Bunny’s ‘Tití Me Preguntó’, his song with Jhay Cortez ‘Dakiti’, and the Bad Bunny, J. Balvin, Cardi B collab ‘I Like It’. Bad Bunny also proved to be an Arianator when he passionately sang Ariana Grande’s song ‘Break Free’.

“I think this is the most English song that I most know,” he told Corden while singing.

Bad Bunny then talked about how he nearly missed his Grammy performance after being stuck in L.A. traffic.

“I was freaking out, I was sweating, two minutes from the Crypto Arena, I was very anxious.”

Afterward, the two stopped at a wrestling ring. Bad Bunny is a huge WWE fan, making references to it in his music, and has participated in WrestleMania himself. Bad Bunny taught some moves to Corden, and the two were joined by Rey Mysterio who wrestled with Corden.

At the end of the segment, the two sang one last song together, ‘As It Was’ by Harry Styles.
