Update:

Movie fans will no longer be able to view films from the Fast & Furious franchise on Netflix after five titles were dropped from the streaming service’s library.

From February 12, users in the United States will not be able to watch these five movies on Netflix: The Fast and the Furious (2001), 2 Fast 2 Furious (2003), The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006), Fast Five(2011), and Fast & Furious 6 (2013).

Since the release of The Fast and the Furious in 2001 there have been ten films from the series with one further spin-off, Hobbs & Shaw (2019). The $7 billion franchise will be split across different streaming platforms going forward, making things more difficult for fans to find.

The big beneficiary of the franchise’s shift away from Netflix is Peacock, the NBC Universal streaming platform. Peacock is adding four F&F films on February 15: Fast Five, Fast & Furious 6, Furious 7 and Hobbs and Shaw. The platform already had F9: the Fast Saga and Fast X, meaning that six of the 11 films from the series are now online.

However Peacock has been unable to capture the streaming rights to all the F&F titles, largely owing to complicated licensing contracts agreed for each film individually.

The fourth movie in the series - Fast & Furious - is currently available to stream on HBO Max. The remaining four films - the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 8th movies - are not currently available to stream on any subscription platform. However they can be rented or bought on video on demand platforms, such as YouTube, Amazon Prime and Google Play.
