Singer Billie Eilish makes her acting debut in the new Amazon Prime Video series ‘Swarm.’ The singer is featured in the thrilling horror series created by Donald Glover and Janine Naber.

Clips of Elilish’s role were released just yesterday alongside the series premiere and fans are already praising Eilish for her acting abilities and dedication to the role.

In the clips, Eilish is seen in extreme close-up shots as Eva, the character she plays, asks Dre, played by Dominique Fishback, a series of questions while snapping.

What is ‘Swarm’ about?

‘Swarm’ chronicles a young woman named Dre who is obsessed with a Beyoncé-esque pop star named NI’Jah. According to the official synopsis, her obsession “with a pop star takes a dark turn.”

Eilish isn’t the only singer on set for the TV series. ‘Swarm’ also casts Chloe Bailey from former musical duo Halle x Chloe as Marissa. According to IMDb, Bailey’s Marissa will appear in five episodes.

Other big names involved in the production include Paris Jackson as Hailey and Damson Idris as Khalid. Additionally, former president Barack Obama’s daughter Malia Obama has writing credits for all seven episodes in the first season.

Who does Billie Eilish play?

According to reports Eilish plays Eva, a coven leader who is introduced in the first episode and reappears in the fourth. Eva enters soon after Dre arrives in Manchester, Tennessee hoping to see Ni’Jah at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival.

Dre, however, can’t get into the local music festival and ends up swindling herself into a coven led by Eva. According to Dexerto, Keith Raniere, the imprisoned co-founder of NVIVM, a self-help cult corporation, directly inspired Eva’s character.

Raniere is currently facing a 120-year sentence for crimes including, racketeering, sexual exploitation of a child, sex trafficking of women, and conspiracy to commit forced labor.

All seven episodes in the series were released on Prime Video on March 17. So far the series has overwhelmingly positive reviews, with an 83 percent Rotten Tomatoes approval rating.
