Billy Ray Cyrus accuses Firerose of physical, emotional and verbal abuse
Billy Ray Cyrus and Firerose’s acrimonious divorce continues. Now, the country star is accusing the actress of physical, emotional and verbal abuse.
The controversy surrounding Billy Ray Cyrus and Firerose’s divorce case continues. Days after the actress announced that she suffered from psychological abuse during her brief marriage, the country star responds to the accusations through a new update on proceedings, in which he accuses Firerose of exercising physical, emotional and verbal abuse towards him.
According to new court documents, filed Monday, June 24, in Tennessee and obtained by PEOPLE magazine, Miley Cyrus’ father “vehemently” denies his now ex’s accusations, describing them as “mind boggling” and pointing out that she was actually the real abuser in the relationship.
Cyrus “fraudulently lead into marriage” by Firerose
“[Firerose’s] allegations of abuse were only made to sensationalize her false complaints by using the word ‘abuse’”, Cyrus’ lawyers argue. “While the Plaintiff would acknowledge that he was certainly vocal, frustrated and angry with the Defendant in May 2024, it is the plaintiff who, in fact, has been abused. Not only verbally and emotionally by the Defendant, but physically abused by the Defendant.”
According to local media reports, under a sworn statement, Cyrus’s manager (Scott Adkins) claimed to have witnessed the attacks. However, anonymously, one of the Firerose representatives pointed out to the same magazine PEOPLE that the only people who support Billy are those who “they are on your payroll”, so “their credibility is questionable”.
The divorce between Billy Ray Cyrus and Firerose
On June 13, Billy Ray Cyrus requested a “total annulment” of his marriage to Firerose citing “irreconcilable differences,” in addition to “inappropriate marital conduct” and noting that the marriage union It had occurred under “fraudulent” circumstances.
Once the divorce report became public, Firerose responded with a countersuit, stating that she had suffered psychological abuse in their relationship. Likewise, she accused Billy Ray of leaving her just because she had undergone a double mastectomy.
For his part, Cyrus argued that, for the last four years, Firerose has known that she carries the BRCA1 gene mutation, which means she has a higher chance of contracting breast cancer, but she did not tell him until a few months ago.
