Brooklyn Beckham was forced to defend himself after getting ridiculed for adding a wine cork to his pasta cause. On Wednesday, the eldest son of Victoria and David Beckham took to his Instagram account to share a series of photos of him in the kitchen.

The model and influencer shared two photos, one of him stirring a pot of pasta sauce with his puppy wrapped up in a hoodie hanging by his side, and another of him looking at his phone with a wine glass in the other hand, and puppy still content to be by his side.

Food Critics

Fans quickly noticed the wine cork placed in the pot and immediately flooded the comments section to laugh about it.

“Why are you cooking the cork for bro?” one user wrote.

Another said, “the wine cork in the pot,’” with a laughing emoji.

“When someone told you to ‘put a cork in it Brooklyn’ They meant… stop talking” another comment suggests.

Another comment simply asked the burning question many fans were wondering, “Is the cork added flavour?”

Clarifying his technique

Not long after he posted the pictures, he took to his Instagram stories to clarify the secret ingredient.

He highlighted a section of an article and posted the screenshot for his 15.1 million followers.

“More research ensued and we found information that the addition of wine corks added to the cooking liquid ensures a more tender dish,” the sentence read.

The article comes from Naple News, a website suggesting that wine corks are better suited for cooking squid and octopus. Beckham at the time appeared to be cooking a bolognese pasta sauce.

“Experts have argued about this method but most chefs and those who regularly prepare squid and octopus swear that there are enzymes in the corks that insure a more palatable dish,” Naples News explains.

A passion for food

At the same time, Beckham also took part in a Q&A on his Instagram account, where a fan asked him if he’s a chef.

“Are you a chef?” the fan asked, to which Beckham replied “NOPE x but food is my passion.” with an accompanying red heart emoji.

Beckham has posted several recipe videos to his Instagram account before, including a Poké bowl, Scouse soup, and Tuna with a cucumber salad.
