Diaz and Madden, who also have a daughter, revealed on Friday that they have welcomed a son into the world.
Hollywood star Cameron Diaz and her husband, the musician Benji Madden, have announced the birth of their second child together.
What is Diaz and Madden’s son called?
The couple, who have been married since 2015, revealed on Friday that they have welcomed a son, Cardinal, into the world.
In a statement on social media, Diaz and Madden said of the new arrival: “He is awesome and we are all so happy he is here! For the kids [sic] safety and privacy we won’t be posting any pictures - but he’s a really cute. We are feeling so blessed and grateful.”

Diaz and Madden also have a daughter, Raddix, who was born via surrogate in December 2019.
In July 2022, a source had told the celebrity news outlet Us Weekly that Diaz, 51, and Madden, 45, were considering bringing more children into their family.
“Cameron and Benji have discussed having another child and have even been looking into surrogate options for a while now,” the insider said. “Benji always wanted a big family, and Cameron didn’t need to be persuaded after the arrival of their daughter.”
I’d have been different mother in 20s, Diaz says
Diaz, who is best known for movies such as Charlie’s Angels, There’s Something About Mary and Gangs of New York, spoke to Gywneth Paltrow’s ‘In goop Health’ podcast in August 2020 about her experiences of becoming a mother.
Putting her “gentle”, hands-off parenting style down to the fact that she is “an older mother”, Diaz said: “Being a mother at the age that I am, I don’t think I could have been this kind of parent at 25.”
Paltrow’s big hand in Diaz motherhood choice
Diaz also revealed that Paltrow, who has two children with Coldplay frontman and former husband Chris Martin, played a major role in her decision to start a family.
“I would not have become a mother if it wasn’t for you,” she told her fellow actor. “I used to tell you, ‘I’m not having kids,’ and you were like, ‘You are having kids, you’re getting married, you’re having children […], you have to do it, you have to.’”
