The Canadian singer made a reappearance at a Montreal Canadiens hockey game in Las Vegas with her children, showing that she is in better health.

Céline Dion surprised her millions of fans by making a rare appearance - the first time she has been seen in public for several years, and alleviated concerns about her health. The 55-year-old Canadian singer stepped away from the spotlight three years ago; in December 2022, she publicly announced that she had been diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome.

Stiff-person syndrome (SPS) is a rare, progressive neurological disorder that affects one person in a million. It’s a condition that forced the singer to cancel a number of musical tours, leading her to put her professional career to one side to focus on her recovery. From the images seen this week, it appears that her recovery is on the right track.

What is stiff-person syndrome?

Scientists don’t yet fully understand what causes SPS, but research indicates that it is the result of an autoimmune response gone awry in the brain and spinal cord. SPS is often mistaken for other conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, psychosomatic illness, or anxiety and phobiaIt affects twice as many females as males but can be kept under control by administering appropriate treatment.

Hockey game in Vegas with the kids

Céline took her three children René-Charles, Nelson and Eddy along to T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas to watch an NHL hockey game between the Montreal Canadiens, the team of which she and her family are fans, and the Vegas Golden Knights, which ended 2-3 to the hosts. After the game, she took the kids to meet the team in the locker room and posed for photos alongside the players including Cole Caufield and captain Nick Suzuki.

My boys and I had such a fun time visiting the Montreal Canadiens after their hockey game with Vegas Golden Knights Monday night. They played so well, what a game!! Thank you for meeting us after the game, guys! That was memorable for all of us. Have a great season!” the singer captioned her Instagram post.

In the post, with captions in English and French, the 55-year-old singer is all smiles, and showing that her health is improving despite the fact that her sister had recently announced that she was having ups and downs and that she had lost her voice.
