The 61-year-old pulled no punches when the conversation came to the possibility of a third child.
Michelle Obama was the special guest on a recent edition of Kylie Kelce’s Not Gonna Lie podcast where the the former First Lady reflected on parenting and the complexities of raising their daughters in the White House and the pressure of navigating the media attention.
Michelle and Barack have two daughters, Malia, 26, and Sasha, 23, but at one point, Barack was anxious to to expand their family.
Michele responded: “I was like, ‘I think I’ve been lucky with these two,‘” she recalled. “Barack was like, ‘We should have a third,’ and I was like, ‘Dude....‘”
Both women broached the subject of raising two daughters, with Kylie and her husband, former NFL star Jason Kelce, and Barack Obama both being proud “girl dads.”
Michelle observed: “That’s because that’s what your husband deserved,” she said with a laugh. “It was like, you know, the karma was like, ‘Dude, you need a bunch of women in your life to take care of you around.‘”
