Chris Pratt opens up about meeting wife Katherine Schwarzenegger
The ‘Super Mario Bros.’ actor says he felt ‘broken’ before meeting his wife.
Chris Pratt opened up about his “very quick” connection with his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger came at a low point in his life. The couple got together in 2018, one year after Pratt and Anna Faris confirmed they were splitting up after eight years of marriage.
In January 2019, the ‘Jurassic World’ actor announced that he and Schwarzenegger were engaged. The couple soon after tying the knot in a ceremony in Montecito, California just six months later.
‘Feels really great’
On Tuesday, Pratt opened up about his relationship with Drew Barrymore on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show,’
“God has a fast-forward button, you know, when it’s right, boom. You get hit, you fall in love, you get married, now we have two beautiful daughters to add to my family and it feels really great,” he said.
After the two were wed after a year of dating, they share daughters, Lyyla, 2, and Eloise who turns one next month. Pratt said the author came into his life when he was “broken.”
“There was a moment in my life where I was really struggling and felt really broken,” the 43-year-old actor continued.
“For me, my own journey of finding a higher power and leaning on that and feeling like, ‘Please save me,’ and then feeling saved. And shortly later meeting the woman of my dreams... It’s all about timing. There’s a perfect plan out there for you and I think you have to have faith.”
How the couple met
Pratt met Schwarzenegger through their church, although he joked about how wrong it felt to check her out in a place of worship.
“You kind of don’t want to be like, ‘Whoa, who’s that?’ at church,” he explained.
“But I was sneaking some glances and I’m wondering, ‘Who is that? Anyway, what am I doing? Come on, I’m broken, help me. But who’s that?’ So we hit it off. We didn’t start dating right away, but we met there and then later on, ended up going out,” Pratt describes.
At the time the two met, Pratt was going through a very public divorce with Faris. The two share a 10-year-old son Jack.
