Amazon Prime’s highly anticipated mini-series ‘Daisy Jones and The Six’ is finally here.
The internet has already found a new series to obsess over. ‘Daisy Jones & The Six’ just hit screens today and here is everything you need to know about the Amazon Prime mini-series.
‘Daisy Jones & The Six’ is based on Taylor Jenkins Reid’s novel by the same name. In the TV series which is produced by Amazon Prime, the fictional story is presented in a documentary style, including background interviews with the band.
The premise is described by Deadline as, “a rock band in the 1970s from their rise in the LA music scene to becoming one of the most famous bands in the world and explores the reason behind their split at the height of their success.”
The story is based on a book by a female author, with a female central character, allowing it to fall into the category of “addictive female dramas,” alongside ‘Big Little Lies’ and ‘Handmaid’s Tale’ claims Deadline.
Release Date
‘Daisy Jones & The Six’ has a unique release date. The first three episodes premiered on Amazon Prime Video on March 3, 2023. While three more episodes will be released a week later on March 10, 2023, at midnight GMT.
There are 10 episodes total in this mini-series, so after next week two more episodes will drop on Friday, March 17th and finally, the last two episodes will arrive Friday 24th. Making March a month packed with ‘Daisy Jones & the Six’ content.
Soundtrack
A unique aspect of this new miniseries is that they have also produced an original soundtrack, which was released just a day before the three-episode premiere. The soundtrack has a total of 24 original songs that were written exclusively for the series and recorded by the cast.
The soundtrack is titled ‘Aurora’ and also features musical contributions from other famous artists such as Phoebe Bridgers, Jackson Browne, and Marcus Mumford. The soundtrack is available on streaming platforms such as Apple Music and Spotify.
The Cast
Riley Keough, who is the granddaughter of Elvis Presley is playing the lead female lead in the series, Daisy Jones. Alongside her as Billy Dunne, is Sam Claflin, who has starred in various successful films such as ‘Me Before You’ and the ‘Hunger Games’ series, both also based on novels.
Alongside this duo are other previously established actors or singers such as Camila Morrone, Suki Waterhouse, Josh Whitehouse, Tom Wright, Timothy Olyphant, Jacqueline Obradors, and Ross Partridge.
