Did Becky G address her fiancé Sebastian Lletget’s cheating rumors?
The singer seemingly addressed the rumors during her Coachella performance
Becky G made her Coachella debut on Friday, fresh off her iHeart Radio win for Best Latin Pop/Reggaeton Song of the Year for the song ‘Mamiii’ featuring Karol G.
And just as she was about to perform the hit song, with lyrics about a woman who leaves a toxic relationship, she took a moment to deliver a brief speech seemingly addressing the cheating rumors surrounding her fiancé of three months, soccer player Sebastian Lletget.
What did she say?
“Sometimes things don’t go the way you plan, I’ll just say that,” she said while sporting a blue bedazzled mini halter dress with matching knee-length boots and blue strings in her hair.
“But sometimes, it’s not rejection — it’s redirection,” she added before jumping into the award-winning song.
Fans immediately took note of what she said, taking it to mean that the singer may be in the midst of ending her three-month engagement.
“She fully confirmed that she is back being single!!! I feel bad for her though. She really loved him,” a fan commented on the TikTok video of the performance.
“Sebastian in tears at home lmaoooooo,” another fan commented
“She singing it differently now,” someone else noted. Becky G performed the song solo without Karol G, which only highlighted its meaning with her personal situation.
“Don’t call me again, I even threw away my cell phone / From how toxic you are, it became harmful / What goes, goes,” the chorus of the song goes.
Becky G’s actions speak louder than words
The allegations that her fiancé was cheating came out last month when Lletget was accused by an anonymous Instagram user that he cheated on the ‘Shower’ singer in Madrid two months into their engagement. The couple has been together since June 2016.
Lletget reacted by posting a lengthy apology, seemingly admitting to cheating, not saying anything specific except that “a 10 minute lapse in judgment resulted in an extortion plot.”
At the iHeart Radio awards, Becky G walked the red carpet alone, wearing a stunning black Julien Macdonald gown.
Upon accepting her award, she was noticeably not wearing her engagement ring.
Since then, the singer has remained quiet, but her brief speech at Coachella, walking red carpets solo and not wearing her engagement ring appears to be her statement on the matter.
