The next Deadpool movie leaves no stone unturned and one of the MCU’s most beloved superheroes is the butt of a joke by the Merc with a Mouth.
One of the most striking nods to the first trailer for ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ was the enormous Ant-Man skull that has sent fans into a craze.
It appears that Cassandra Nova, evil twin sister of X-men leader Charles Xavier, will use the Ant-Man corpse to set up her headquarters. Does that mean we’ll see the end of Paul Rudder’s character in the movie?

The latest teaser for the next film by Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman uses this detail as a mockery towards Paul Rudd, the actor who plays the superhero Ant-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The reason? How well the actor manages to keep his looks, something which has given rise over the years to all kinds of punchlines.
When does Ant-Man release in theaters?
The Twitter account @DiscussingFilm shared a new teaser of ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’, which will premiere next July 26, 2024. In the ten-second-long video, there are a couple of jokes, but the most striking is the “So Paul Rudd has finally aged!” from Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool upon seeing the huge skull of a dead Ant-Man. Whether or not this means that Ant-Man will die forever in the MCU, we just don’t know...
As mentioned above, this comment follows the line of the many jokes that have been made regarding Paul Rudd’s appearance, although not in a negative tone, quite the opposite: his fans often highlight his enviable physique and how young he looks despite being 55-years-old. Rudd was born on April 6, 1969.
There are many kind-hearted memes and all kinds of jokes that swarm the internet regarding Paul Rudd’s ability to maintain his youthful looks. There are those who claim that he is a vampire, or that he has made a pact with the devil to keep his appearance young and fresh.
And, for many, Rudd remains identical to how he was in the episode of ‘Friends’ in which he ran over Rachel with a Segway scooter... almost thirty years ago!
What is known about 'Deadpool and Wolverine'?
‘Deadpool and Wolverine’ promises to be Marvel’s big comeback after several failures like ‘The Marvels’ or ‘Secret Invasion’. In this film, Deadpool is recruited by the Temporal Variation Agency —which was introduced in ‘Loki’— to resolve a conflict started by a variant of Cassandra Nova, Charles Xavier’s twin sister and someone with psychic powers similar to hers.
During his adventure he will recruit a variant of Wolverine, played by the equally ageless Hugh Jackman who returns to the most iconic role of his career since ‘Logan’ in 2017. Behind the camera is Shawn Levy, producer of Netflix’s hit ‘Stranger Things’, and who has also collaborated with Ryan Reynolds in the past on other productions such as ‘Free Guy’ (2021) or ‘The Adam Project’ (2022) .
The script is written by Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Zeb Wells and Levy, as well as Reynolds himself. This is the first film in the ‘Deadpool’ saga released after Disney’s purchase of FOX, which is what has made the integration of the anti-hero into in the Marvel Cinematic Universe a possibility.
