Joe was born in Leeds in 1996 and somehow fell in love with Leeds United as they huffed and puffed their way to a mid-table finish in the Championship every year. At a young age, thanks to annual holidays on the Spanish coast, he developed an interest in fútbol that quickly turned into a passion for everything about the country. A love for the beautiful game in Spain led him to studying the language and history up to University level; after graduating he became an English teacher/translator for football players and managers, as well as collaborating with various football media outlets in both English and Spanish. He joined AS in the autumn of 2022 and has not looked back since, covering both men’s and women’s football across Europe and beyond.
