The Los Angeles Police department confirmed Friday that officers were called around 9 p.m. to the 9900 block of Kip Drive in Beverly Hills regarding a burglary. Upon arrival, the security guard at the scene, who also called the police, told officers that an unknown white male had made an unauthorized entry into the property.

After officers reviewed security cam footage, they were able to identify the alleged suspect, whom they detained later near the property. The man was arrested for burglary but no more information about him and the property owners were released.

It’s unclear whether any items were taken from the property. Although the LAPD statement did not disclose the property owner, TMZ quickly reported that the property belonged to Drake.

The LA mansion’s history

The actor and rapper was not home at the time of the alleged break-in. TMZ also reports that the suspect was reportedly carrying an item from the home when he was detained.

Drake bought the 10-bedroom, 22-bathroom estate from English singer-songwriter Robbie Williams just last year, with reports claiming he paid up to $75 million.

This is not the first time Drake’s home has been targeted. A man was arrested in July of last year on suspicion of trespassing on the same property while the star was away vacationing.

The man was spotted by staff near the pool house and attempted to claim he was Drake’s son. The incident happened only months after Drake purchased the property.

Drake’s extensive real estate portfolio

Drake is known for his lavish living and multiple properties. Just this week it was reported that Drake stayed in a $ 75,000-a-night hotel suite during his NYC shows.

In 2020, the rapper’s Toronto home was the star of a feature spread in Architectural Digest Magazine. Measuring 50,000 square feet, the home features an NBA regulation-sized indoor basketball court with a 21-square-foot skylight.

The Toronto mansion is custom-built and took around six years total to assemble.

“It’s overwhelming high luxury,” co-designer and architect Ferris Rafauli said about it. “That message is delivered through the size of the rooms and the materials and details of the floors and ceilings. I wanted to make sure people can see the work I’ve put in over the years reflected from every vantage point.”

The rapper’s Beverly Hill property is also on par with his expensive taste. The elegant home is equipped with a movie theater, a mosaic-tiled pool, and a hidden tennis court.
