D&D unexpectedly surprised audiences with a cameo from a tiny Bradley Cooper playing Mariamin.

In a world where movie spoilers and cameos often get ruined before a movie is even released, the new ‘Dungeons & Dragons’ film kept this secret locked up pretty well.

About midway through the film, Holga Kilgore (Michelle Rodriguez) visits an ex’s house for some reason or another. And out comes... Bradley Cooper at roughly two feet tall.

The two have the kind of conversation exes have, with Cooper’s character, Mariamin, revealing that he found a new, also-not-a-Hobbit partner he loves. Holga, meanwhile, suddenly regrets drinking too much during their relationship and generally not treating him well.

The reunion ends with a shot of Holga’s big ol’ hand holding Cooper’s tiny one, friends at last.

How did Bradley Cooper get chosen to cameo in the film?

“It was originally another actor,” Rodriguez told ‘Yahoo Entertainment’ about the cameo. “They added Cooper after the fact and then told me about it. I was like, ‘What?!...’ It was really great to see because it’s a spoof within the movie.

“It has this suspension of disbelief throughout, and it’s broken at that moment because you don’t expect it, and you get caught off guard when you see the celebrity and not the character for a second there.”

Writer and director John Francis Daley says, in his interview with Variety about the making of the film, that he called up his old friend Bradley Cooper to film a part he thought Cooper would make a perfect addition to.

“We had thought about a really fun cameo for this part. It was sent to his agent, but I sent him a letter saying like, ‘It’d be fun to play again.’ I got a text from him from a number I didn’t recognize saying, ‘Yo, is this still John?’ And I said, ‘Who’s this?’ Because I’ve gotten weird texts before from strangers.

“He said, ‘BC from KC.’ I’m like, ‘What?’ ‘Kitchen Confidential!’ I’m like, ‘Oh, shit!’

“I immediately called him. He had just seen the film. He called it a triumph, which almost made me cry, because it had been a real long process working on this thing. And he was like, ‘I’m on board. Sign me up.’”
