With Taylor Swift’s highly anticipated Eras Tour underway, the pop singer has been keeping the surprises coming. This week, on the night of her first Texas show, the singer released an acoustic version of her single ‘Lavender Haze’ from her album ‘Midnights.’

Early Friday morning, Taylor Swift’s official management team, better known as ‘Taylor Nation’ across social media platforms, posted the song to their accounts. The account teased the new track with a playful caption.

“What if there was a version of Lavender Haze that made you feel like you were floating in a fluffy lavender cloud? Oh wait… there is? #LavenderHazeAcoustic out now!” The caption reads.

The social media posts also included a link to stream the song across music platforms and a 23 second teaser of the track.

Previous remixes

The acoustic version isn’t the first remix of the hit single Swift has released. She previously teamed up with artists such as Tensnake, Snakehips, Jungle, and Felix Jaehn for ‘Lavender Haze’ remixes.

The remixes were combined into an EP and released on various music platforms on March 3, 2023. ‘Lavender Haze’ isn’t the only ‘Midnights’ track to be remixed, another single ‘Anti-Hero,’ was also remixed with features from Bleachers, Roosevelt, Kungs, Jayda G, and ILLENIUM.

What is Lavender Haze?

Swift previously shared the inspiration for the song ‘Lavender Haze’ in an Instagram post.

“I happened upon the phrase ‘Lavender Haze’ when I was watching Mad Men and I looked it up because I thought it sounded cool, and it turns out that it was a common phrase that was used in the ‘50s where they would just describe being in love. Like, If you were in the ‘Lavender Haze,’ that meant you were in that all-encompassing love glow, and I thought that was really beautiful,” she explained in the Instagram post.

She continued, “I guess theoretically when you’re in the ‘Lavender Haze,’ you’ll do anything to stay there and not let people bring you down off of that cloud. And I think a lot of people have to deal with this now — not just, like, quote-unquote public figures — because we live in the era of social media and if the world finds out that you’re in love with somebody, they’re gonna weigh in on it.”
