Dwayne Johnson will cameo in ‘Fast X’

Despite his feud with Vin Diesel, Johnson will make a brief appearance in the latest ‘Fast & Furious’ film.

Dwayne Johnson will cameo in ‘Fast X’

Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel have been feuding on and off since 2016, and back in 2021, Johnson told Diesel that he wouldn’t be returning to the Fast & Furious franchise.

However, according to The Wrap, Johnson will be making a cameo in a post-credit scene in the franchise’s latest installment, ‘Fast X’.

Johnson and Diesel feud history

While Diesel has led the franchise since its inception back in 2001 as Dominic Toretto, Johnson wouldn’t join until the fifth installment, ‘Fast Five’, as Hobbs, which premiered in 2011.

The two would go on to star in a total of four ‘Fast & Furious’ films together.

Rumors of a feud came about after filming on ‘The Fate of the Furious’ wrapped when Johnson made a post to Instagram. In the post, Johnson thanked some of his co-stars by name, but didn’t include Diesel in the post.

Later that year, Michelle Rodriguez, who played Letty Ortiz, stated that there was tension between the two actors on set.

“Any human being who knows what men are like knows to stay out [of those] situations and let them figure it out,” she said.

“They’re ‘bros’, man. They’re friends, and ultimately even friends reach a point where they have to set aside their differences to make a movie for multicultural people around the world, and that is the bigger scheme of things.”

Also in 2016, Johnson shared another post to Instagram that only added fuel to the fire.

“Some [male co-stars] conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t,” Johnson wrote.

“The ones that don’t are too chicken s—t to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses. When you watch this movie next April and it seems like I’m not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling — you’re right.”

In a follow-up post, Johnson said, “Family is gonna have differences of opinion and fundamental core beliefs. To me, conflict can be a good thing, when it’s followed by great resolution. I was raised on healthy conflict and welcome it.

“And like any family, we get better from it.”

Johnson quits the franchise

In October 2021, Johnson told Vanity Fair that he only agreed to appear in ‘The Fate of the Furious’ if he didn’t have to share scenes with Diesel.

In December 2021, Johnson confirmed that he wouldn’t be returning to the franchise.

‘Fast X’ releases on May 19, 2023.
