In Monday night’s latest Powerball drawing, a single ticket landed jackpot of well over $200 million.
How much was won?
According to the U.S. lottery’s organizers, a ticket bought in the state of Delaware matched all six numbers, to scoop a top prize that had risen to a pre-tax total of $231m (with a $104.9m cash option). The winner now has two choices:
• Collect the full jackpot figure in growing annual instalments spread over 29 years
• Receive the smaller, cash-option figure as an up-front, lump-sum payment

In Monday’s Powerball drawing, the winning white balls were 7, 24, 37, 42 and 57. The red Powerball was 5. The Power Play multiplier was 2x.

How much is the Powerball jackpot in the next drawing?
Monday’s jackpot win ends a run of 14 Powerball drawings that saw no tickets land the grand prize. Before this week, the most recent jackpot-winning drawing had been on March 2, when a single ticket in Arkansas claimed a $251m top prize, with a $118.8m cash option.
The Powerball jackpot will now be reset to $20m, with a $9.1m cash option.

The next drawing takes place at 10:59 p.m. ET/7:59 p.m. PT on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

Per Powerball organizers, a single ticket - which costs $2 - has a one in 292,201,338 chance of winning the jackpot.
While the top prize captures the headlines, there are also numerous smaller amounts to be won. Secondary prizes range from $4 to $1 million or more, depending on how many winning numbers a player matches.
Non-jackpot prizes can be multiplied by adding the Power Play option for an additional $1.
