Dwayne Johnson’s touching message after mom involved in scary car crash
“She’s a survivor, in ways that make angels and miracles real,” Johnson wrote after his mom was involved in a crash.
Dwayne Johnson is thankful his mom, Ata Johnson, is doing well after she was involved in a scary car accident.
The ‘Black Adam’ star posted a photo on his Instagram account showing the extensive damage his mother’s red Cadillac SUV sustained after being involved in a car crash in Los Angeles on February 2.
“Angels of mercy watched over my mom as she was in a car crash late last night. She’ll survive and continue to get evaluated,” Johnson said in his post.
“This woman has survived lung cancer, tough marriage, head on collision with a drunk driver and attempted suicide. She’s a survivor, in ways that make angels and miracles real.”
Johnson thanks authorities
With his mother on the mend following the scary incident, Johnson also took time to thank the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles Fire Department.
“Thank you LAPD & LAFD for being so caring & focused. Thanks for staying on phone and talking me thru it all,” he wrote.
Johnson ended his post telling fans to hug their parents if they still have them, noting he only “has one parent left” following the passing of dad Rocky Johnson in January 2020 after he died of a massive heart attack at age 75.
“I got one parent left, so if you still got your mom and dad make sure you hug ‘em hard, cos you never know when you’ll get that 3am call we never want to get.
Johnson and his mom have a close relationship
Since his dad’s passing, Johnson has made it a priority to look after his mom. Last summer he posted a video after he surprised Ata with a new home.
“When I was a little boy, I hated when my mom would cry. These days, I’ll happily take her tears of joy,” he captioned a video as Ata walked into her new house. “I surprised my mom and bought her a new home. Took me and my design team 8 weeks to get it ready … everything she saw was brand new and a total surprise.”
Johnson added that while he had been lucky enough to have bought his mom a few homes over the years, this one was special because it was her “dream” home “after a lifetime of traveling.”
