Eminem’s daughter Hailie Jade gets engaged

Hailie Jade Scott Mathers, Eminem’s daughter, hit a major relationship milestone recently by getting engaged to longtime boyfriend Evan McClintock.

The 27-year-old received a romantic proposal this weekend which she later announced on Instagram.

“Casual weekend recap… 2.4.23,” she wrote on Instagram with the ring emoji. “I love you @evanmcclintock11.”

She included three photos in the post: one of the couple popping a bottle of champagne, a photo of McClintock on one knee proposing, and a close-up of her ring while holding a glass of champagne.

The couple appears to be in an empty outdoor patio of an unnamed restaurant and a bouquet of red roses can be seen set on the table in the first photo.

The romantic photos were captured by Erika Christine Photography, who specializes in lifestyle and wedding photography in Detroit.

Relationship history

The pair began dating in 2016, but generally keeps their relationship out of the public eye. Hailie is a fashion influencer who hosts the ‘Just a Little Shady’ podcast, while McClintock is an enterprise growth executive for a software development company.

The two met at their school, Michigan State University, and have been dating since. While Scott’s Instagram account mainly consists of single shots of herself and her outfits, the couple has made a few appearances together online.

On Christmas in 2019, she posted two photos of herself and McClintock during her 70′s themed roller disco birthday party. She also posted him on other special occasions like her previous birthdays, Halloween in 2018, and on St. Patrick’s Day in 2017.

Aside from the few photos together, their relationship remains private online. McClintock’s Instagram account is set to private with only a little over 700 followers.

Family approval

While there’s nothing public confirming it, McClintock likely has approval from Hailie’s famous father rapper Eminem. In an interview with Mike Tyson in March 2020, Eminem was briefly asked about his daughter’s relationship.

“No babies,” the rapper replied when Tyson asked if she had any children of her own. “Just a boyfriend. She’s doing good. She’s made me proud for sure.”

Eminem’s younger brother Nathan Kane Mathers, and Scott’s uncle has also been vocal about his support for the couple. After Scott posted a photo of her and McClintock, Mathers commented “My Homie Evan” along with a fire emoji.
