Vampire drama “Sinners” has set a new record for Oscars nominations and is many people’s favorite to win Best Picture.

“Sinners,” Ryan Coogler’s vampire drama, and “One Battle After Another," Paul Thomas Anderson’s black comedy starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean Penn, will go head-to-head for several Oscars at the 98th Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
“Sinners” has received 16 nominations in all, breaking the all-time Oscar record, which had been anticipated. “All About Eve” (1950), “Titanic” (1997) and “La La Land” (2016) held the previous record with 14.
“One Battle After Another” follows close behind on 13, while “Marty Supreme,” “Frankenstein,” “Sentimental Value” and “Hamnet” are all up for multiple prizes, also including Best Picture.

When are the 2026 Oscars?
The 2026 Oscars are to take place on Sunday, Mar. 15, at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT. In the U.S., the gala is to air on ABC and Hulu. You can also stream ABC’s coverage on fubo, which offers new users a free, introductory trial.
Comedian Conan O’Brien is to host the Academy Awards for the second year in a row.
