‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ cast to reunite in Disney+ series
After winning big at the Oscars, Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan are set to team up in another project.
Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan had a night to remember at the Oscars, and the duo are now poised to conquer another dimension, this time on Disney+.
The duo, who starred in ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’, won their respective categories at the 95th Academy Awards. Yeoh took home Best Actress, while Quan won for Best Supporting Actor on a night that the saw the film capture seven awards in total.

With their victory now in the rearview mirror, Yeoh and Quan will reunite in the upcoming Disney+ series ‘American Born Chinese’.
The series is adapted from the 2006 graphic novel by Gene Luen Yang. It tells the story of Jin Wang (Ben Wang), who is born to Chinese immigrants and struggling to grow up in what is a predominantly white suburb.
He later meets a Taiwanese classmate at school, and the two become friends before Jin is pulled into a battle that involves Chinese mythological gods.
“Dark forces will be calling,” Yeoh, who plays Guanyin in the series, says in the teaser. “The fate of your world hangs in the balance.”
Yeoh plays Jin’s aunt, who is busy “maintaining her secret identity as the all-powerful Buddhist bodhisattva of Compassion” according to Variety.
As for Quan, he’ll play Freddie Wong, “the star of a popular 1990s sitcom”.
Yeoh and Quan will be joined by fellow ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ star Stephanie Hsu, who is set to have a guest star role as Shiji Niangniang, the Goddess of Stones, who works in a modern day jewelry shop along with her magical dog.
The cast also includes Yeo Yann Yann, Chin Han, Daniel Wu, Sydney Taylor and Poppy Liu. James Hong, who played Gong Gong in ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’, is also set to appear in ‘American Born Chinese’ as the Jade Emperor.
Produced by 20th television, the series is set to premiere on Disney+ on May 24, 2023.
