Everything Everywhere All at Once wins the 2023 Best Picture Oscar award

The award goes to the movie directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert

‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ has won the 2023 Best Picture Oscar award.

The film beat out the likes of ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’, ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’, ‘The Banshees of Inisherin’, ‘Elvis’, ‘The Fabelmans’, ‘Tár’, ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, ‘Triangle of Sadness’ and ‘Women Talking’ to claim the honor.

The film previously won at the Directors Guild of America Awards, the Producers Guild of America Awards, the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the Writers Guild of America Awards, becoming just the fifth film to do so after ‘American Beauty’, ‘No Country for Old Men’, ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ and ‘Argo’.

As a result the film was viewed by many as the favorite to win at the Academy Awards as well, and it didn’t disappoint.

Written, directed and co-produced by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, known as the Daniels, the film focuses on Evelyn Wang (played by Michelle Yeoh) as she connects with parallel universe versions of herself while trying to prevent the destruction of the multiverse.

‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ has received widespread critical acclaim, with reviewers praising its originality and acting, along with its visual, action sequences and score.

The film has also proven to be a success at the box office, earning close to $110 million.
