Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, and Jordana Brewster express their connection with the late Paul Walker’s daughter.
The stars of the popular racing franchise ‘Fast & Furious’ have expressed what the cameo of Paul Walker’s daughter, Meadow Walker, means to them.
Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, and Jordana Brewster all commented on the appearance of their late friend in their latest film.
Paul Walker’s first seven ‘Fast’ features
Paul Walker was one of the original ‘Fast’ cast before his untimely death in November 2013. Walker was 40 when he was in the fatal car crash.
The actor had been in the first seven movies in the franchise — including ‘Furious 7′, which came out in 2015.
The ‘Fast’ cast discuss Meadow Walker’s cameo
The cast spoke with People Magazine at Charlize Theron’s annual fundraiser, the Africa Outreach Project, in Los Angeles.
“It did something to my soul,” Diesel said of Meadow Walker’s involvement with the project. “To see her want to honor her father and to contribute in her own way to his life’s work… it meant everything.”
Rodriguez added that having Meadow Walker in the film helped the cast keep alive the memories of their late friend.
“It’s everything to us because [Paul Walker’s] memory is never going to die within the franchise,” Rodriguez said, “so as long as we’re doing it, we have to maintain that, [keeping his] energy alive.”
Brewster, who played Walker’s love interest in the films, said that she was inspired by the presence of Meadow Walker on set.
“[Meadow Walker is] woven into the fabric forever,” Brewster declared. “To have her be on set and work her butt off was really, really inspiring.”
Meanwhile, Meadow Walker posted about the cameo on her Instagram, where she made a tribute to her late dad and expressed the reasons she chose to participate in the project.
