Fatman Scoop dies after collapsing on stage during Connecticut concert
The much-loved rapper, real name Isaac Freeman, has died after collapsing during a performance in Hamden late on Friday evening. He was 53 years old.
Rapper Fatman Scoop has died after he collapsed during a concert at Town Center Park, Hamden, Connecticut, on Friday night.
His tour manager, Birch Michael, shared the news on Facebook.
“It is with the heaviest of hearts I announce the passing of Isaac Freeman III, Known professionally as Fatman Scoop,” he wrote.
“You taught me how to be the Man I am today.”

Fans expressed the loss they felt on social media, and acknowledged the singer’s contributions to the music industry.
“The ‘Be Faithful’ party break was the backbone of club nights/partying in 1999 going into the 2000s. It would change the entire molecular makeup of a dance floor in mere seconds,” wrote @DeePhunk.
“A whole magic wand. RIP Fatman Scoop. NYC has lost a gem.”

Fatman Scoop collapsed on the concert stage
Videos had circulated on social media showing the singer receiving CPR on stage. Medical teams attended the scene and the artist was transported to hospital.
Reports from those at the gig said that the artist collapsed while performing and later was taken away on a stretcher.
