NASA and Boeing Space are making final preparations for the first launch of the Starliner spacecraft, with liftoff expected on Monday (6 May).

This Monday, NASA and ULA (United Launch Alliance) plan to launch Boeing’s Starliner capsule which will send astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS) with the development set to be a milestone for the US aerospace giant and NASA.

When does NASA and Boeing’s CST-100 Starliner take off?

The launch was scheduled for last July, however various problems with the design of the parachutes and the safety of the ship have been instrumental in delaying its takeoff. The launch was them rescheduled for March 2024 and finally pushed back to 6 May.

The capsule will be launched on the Atlas V rocket, and approximately half an hour after launch, Starliner will separate from the rocket and eventually arrive at the International Space Station (ISS).

What time is the CST-100 Starliner launch?

The launch of the NASA and Boeing spacecraft will take place from Cape Canaveral, in Florida, and is scheduled for this Monday, May 6 at 10:34 p.m. local time (ET).

Who are the astronauts on the CST-100 Starliner?

NASA astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore will be aboard the mission and will travel in the Starliner to the ISS for a week. At 26 hours after takeoff, the ship will dock with the Harmony module, after the relocation of the SpaceX Dragon capsule.

How to watch the launch of the manned CST-100 Starliner?

The broadcast can be followed through NASA television, as well as through the space agency’s YouTube channel with broadcast coverage expected from 6:30 p.m. (ET). You can also follow live the docking of Starliner at the IEE, which is scheduled for 7 May.
