The Foo Fighters are letting fans know that they are moving forward since the tragic death of their drummer, Taylor Hawkins.

The band released what appears to be a teaser clip to their Instagram account of their first new music since they lost their bandmate.

The post comes after several show announcements from the band. Foo Fighters are scheduled for 25 performances in 2023 — from headlining shows to festival appearances across the United States, Canada, Europe, Japan, and Brazil.

The post, though ambiguous, hints that the band has something new brewing.

On a white background reads the text: “Are you thinking what I’m thinking?”

Then the band reveals a short, 13-second clip of new audio.

Who will fill in for Taylor Hawkins?

The band has yet to find a new drummer to replace the late Hawkins on the drums during their upcoming shows.

There have been rumors circulating that Matt Cameron, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden drummer, might play with Foo Fighters this year, but he has since denied them.

However, despite not having a drummer secured, Foo Fighters have expressed their desire to keep making music and performing for their fans.

Foo Fighters moving forward

In January 2023, the band, whose last album ‘Medicine at Midnight’ was released in 2021, told fans they will continue despite the loss of Hawkins.

“As we say goodbye to the most difficult and tragic year that our band has ever known,” Foo Fighters wrote about the tragic loss of their friend and bandmate, “we are reminded of how thankful we are for the people that we love and cherish most, and for the loved ones who are no longer with us.”

“Foo Fighters were formed 27 years ago to represent the healing power of music and a continuation of life,” the statement continued. “And for the past 27 years our fans have built a worldwide community, a devoted support system that has helped us all get through the darkest of times together.”

“A place to share our joy and our pain, our hopes and fears, and to join in a chorus of life together through music. Without Taylor, we never would have become the band that we were—and without Taylor, we know that we’re going to be a different band going forward.

“We also know that you, the fans, meant as much to Taylor as he meant to you. And we know that when we see you again—and we will soon—he’ll be there in spirit with all of us every night.”
