Update:

The famous movie star Diane Keaton has passed away at the age of 79, leaving a huge hole in Hollywood. A fixture on our screens for decades, Keaton’s credits list the envy of any name in the world of entertainment.

While her most famous role arguably comes as Kay Adams, the girlfriend of mobster Michael Corleone (Al Pacino), in “The Godfather” (1972) and “The Godfather Part II” (1974), her other notable roles include performances in: “Something’s Gotta Give,” “First Wives Club,” “Father of the Bride,” “Book Club,” “Baby Boom,” and “Hanging Up”.

Keaton starred in Woody Allen’s Broadway 1969 show Play It Again, Sam, from where she and the filmmaker began a relationship in that following decade.

The pair starred together in a number of famous works, including Love and Death, and Annie Hall. Even to this day, Annie Hall remains a mystery to fans, as it is often thought to have elements drawn from their relationship. However, this is something that Keaton previously played down, despite admitting to it having “elements of truth.”

Keaton then went on to have a relationship with Al Pacino, which began after they met while filming The Godfather, early 1970s. She even admitted later that “I was really very taken with Al from the very beginning.” While the first film came out in 1972, it was not until the 1974 sequel before the two began a romantic relationship. Parade say that “they maintained an uncommitted, on-and-off romance throughout the years until sometime after 1990’s The Godfather: Part III."

Diane Keaton was also romantically involved with Warren Beatty during the making of Reds in 1981. Reflecting on her admiration for him in a 2016 interview, Keaton said, “The first time I saw Warren was in Splendor in the Grass [in 1961]. I mean, come on! He was to die for—a dream. Bonnie and Clyde? Come on. Not only was he beautiful, gorgeous, sexy, captivating, and mysterious, but he was also an incredible director and producer. All of that combined is just so rare.”
