Update:

It’s fair to say that the heist of the Louvre, in which a group of thieves stole millions of Euros worth of gold and jewellery, has captured the imagination of the world.

Ocean’s Eleven star George Clooney recently spoke about the heist, admitting he was “proud” of the people who managed to pull off such an outrageous feat of trickery in stealing the eight luxury pieces.

Speaking on the red carpet ahead of the premiere for Jay Kelly, Clooney gave his thoughts on the robbery.

“I watched the film... it was cool — I mean terrible!”

When asked whether or not he would incorporate the Louvre heist into Ocean’s Fourteen, Clooney joked: “I think we should! We should rob the Louvre! But somebody’s already done it, man. You know what we’re going to do? We’re going to rob Adam Sandler, he’s got some crown jewels.”

I wonder if they’re going to catch these guys,” Clooney continued, eyes bulging with imagined riches, clearly intrigued by the case, “they seem to have done a pretty good job of getting away with it! I watched the film of them coming down the [ladder], it was cool — I mean terrible!"

“If you’re a professional thief, like I am,” he joked, “I was very proud of those guys. It’s pretty funny, it was like [Ocean’s Eleven]. In the middle of broad daylight, crazy, with all the tourists there!"
