High‑stakes cat‑and‑mouse thriller ‘Nemesis’ hits Netflix this week

The plot pits the smartest thief in Los Angeles against a brilliant detective willing to do anything to hunt him down and catch him.

Update:

In the fast‑moving world of streaming, new movies, shows, and documentaries drop every day — often so quickly that only the biggest titles get the spotlight. But on Thursday, May 14 (available starting at 3 a.m. ET), Netflix is rolling out Nemesis, a new series that hasn’t generated much buzz yet but has all the makings of a breakout hit.

The show leans hard into the classic cat‑and‑mouse formula, blending heists, high‑stakes crime, and sharp action — the kind of mix that tends to dominate Netflix’s Top 10.

The game of cat and mouse

At the center of the story is Coltrane Wilder, a master thief so elusive that no one can stay on his trail. Opposite him is Isaiah Stiles, a brilliant Los Angeles detective who’s willing to push every limit to bring Wilder down. Their showdown unfolds across L.A., turning the city into a battleground of wits and strategy.

Matthew Law (True Story) steps into the role of LAPD detective Isaiah Stiles, while Y’lan Noel (The First Purge) plays the enigmatic thief Coltrane Wilder. The cast also includes Cleopatra Coleman, Tre Hale, Domenick Lombardozzi, Jonnie Park, Ariana Guerra, Gabrielle Dennis, Michael Potts, and Sophina Brown.

Nemesis arrives as a single season with eight episodes — a tight, binge‑ready package that could easily become Netflix’s next sleeper success.
