What Oscar is Chalamet nominated for?

Chalamet is up for Best Actor honors for his portrayal of Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown, James Mangold’s biopic of the legendary singer-songwriter.

Nominated for Best Actor for the second time in his big-screen career, Chalamet is a frontrunner to clinch his first Oscar on Sunday, albeit the bookmakers are placing The Brutalist star Adrien Brody slightly ahead of the 29-year-old in the race for the statuette.

Kylie and Timothée: a brief history

Chalamet was first rumored to be dating Jenner, a reality-TV star and makeup mogul, after they were seen together at Paris Fashion Week in January 2023. That followed Jenner’s split from former partner Travis Scott, who is the father of her two children.

Talk of romance then grew that April, after Jenner’s car was spotted arriving at Chalamet’s mansion in California.

It was not until September 2023 that they stepped out together in public for the first time, attending a Beyoncé concert at which they were snapped sharing a kiss. That month, they also turned out together at Flushing Meadows to watch the men’s singles final at tennis’s U.S. Open.

By December 2023, a source told People magazine that Jenner was now officially referring to Chalamet as her boyfriend. And four months later, there were even rumors that she was pregnant with his child. However, a source swiftly confirmed to Us Weekly that the couple was not expecting.

Having accompanied Chalamet to last year’s Golden Globes - an appearance that sparked social-media rumors of a beef with Selena Gomez - Jenner was again by the actor’s side at this January’s Globes, where he lost out to Brody for Best Actor in a Drama Motion Picture.

However, the Kylie Cosmetics founder could choose to sit out the Oscars this weekend, an insider has told the US Sun.

Why might Kylie Jenner miss the Oscars?

A source close to Jenner has revealed to the media outlet that the 27-year-old would like to attend the Academy Awards, but is “anxious” about doing so.

“Kylie always has stage fright at the big Hollywood events,” the source revealed. “She gets really anxious about having to hold conversations about things she doesn’t know about, like the film industry and acting.

“It just makes her uncomfortable. She’s always battling that inferiority complex of ‘They think I’m just trash TV.' There’s still a huge part of her that lives in fear of having that rug pulled out from under her, or people saying she doesn’t deserve to be somewhere like the Oscars.”

The 97th Academy Awards are to take place at 7:00 p.m. ET/4:00 p.m. PT on Sunday, March 2.
