The full list of 2024 Grammy nominees have been released, and Beyoncé, the artist with the greatest number of the coveted awards, has a chance to pick up a few more. She was nominated for eleven awards, the second most ever, only following Michael Jackson who was nominated for 12 awards in a single night. Some of the biggest awards the international sensation is up for include Song of the Year - “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM,” Record of the Year - “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM,” Best Pop Solo Performance - “BODYGUARD,” and Best Country Album - “COWBOY CARTER.”

Beyoncé Knowles is no stranger to award shows. In 2023, the American singer, songwriter, actress, and entrepreneur managed to snag nine Grammy Award nominations. Between her work as a solo artist and collaborations in Destiny’s Child and The Carters, Knowles has racked up a total of thirt-two Grammy awards and eighty-eight nominations.

A record-breaking winner

With thirty-two wins Beyonce holds the record for the most Grammy wins in the history of the coveted music awards. She’s also tied with her husband, Jay-Z, for most Grammy nominations, but outranks him by eight for most awards total.

Knowles’ first Grammy award came in 2001 when she and Destiny’s Child won two different awards for the single ‘Say My Name.’ The group took home the awards for Best R&B Performance by a duo or group with Vocals and Best R&B song.

However, since 2000 she has been nominated in at least one category for every annual Grammy Award show. She has also won in at least one category at 14 of the 22 Grammy Shows she has been nominated in.

An impressive winning streak considering she did not release an entire album in every consecutive year following 2000.

Beyonce’s history of Grammy Performances

Knowles isn’t just known for sweeping wins at the Grammy Awards, she has also had some pretty memorable performances at the shows. In 2022, RollingStone ranked Beyonce’s 2017 performance of ‘Love Drought/Sandcastles’ as the third-best Grammy performance of all time.

What makes the nine-minute performance so significant was her use of psychedelic hologram visuals and airy fabrics, leaving viewers unsure of what is really in front of them and what is digitally manufactured onto the stage.

Beyonce shocked the world with this performance because two weeks prior she announced she was pregnant with twins, meaning she was around five months pregnant at the time.
