Taylor Swift’s Grammys collection has continued to grow year by year since her first nomination for the Best New Artist award at the 50th edition of the gala in 2008. On that occasion, she missed out to Amy Winehouse, who picked up five awards on the night (Michael Jackson and Carlos Santana jointly share the record, taking home eight each in 1984 and 2000 respectively). She was one of the presenters on the night though, handing over the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration award to Juanes.

A year later at the 51st edition, she didn’t feature among the nominees but made her first appearance as a performer. Acoustic guitar in hand, a teenage Taylor took the stage at the Staples Center to treat the audience to Fifteen, a cut off her second studio album, Fearless. On stage, she was joined by Miley Cyrus, who took over vocal duties on the chorus. As she explained to CBS, “We actually pitched it to the Grammys and they were like, ‘Well we’re really into collaborations’. Our personalities are opposites so it works”.
