The 96th edition of the Oscar Awards, the most recognised film festival in the world, will be held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on March 10, 4 p.m. local time, which is 7 p.m. ET. Everything you need to know about the 2024 Oscars

Between musical performances and parades down the red carpet, plenty of films are tipped to be the undisputed winners of this edition: ‘Oppenheimer’, the favourite with 13 nominations and ‘Poor Creatures’, with 11, are some that stand out in the hours leading up to the ceremony.

On an individual level, Cillian Murphy looks likely to win the award for Best Leading Actor for his role in the feature film by Christopher Nolan, while Lily Gladstone thanks to her great role in ‘The Moon Killers’ is a favourite in the bets for Best Leading Actress, along with Emma Stone.

However, not all the big names in the industry fit on the nominee bill - there are always absences. In this edition of the awards, one of the most shocking is that of Margot Robbie, who has not been nominated for Best Actress after her role in ‘Barbie’, a controversial decision that has aroused criticism towards the Academy.

How many Oscars does Jennifer Lawrence have and how many times has she been nominated for an Oscar?

Jennifer Lawrence is one world-famous actress whose name has not been put among the nominees this year, despite her unshakeable reputation as one of the greatest performers in the modern era. However, it is not due to bad acting, but the simple reason that she has not starred in any major blockbuster on the list of potential winning films.

The actress has accustomed us in recent years to star as one of the nominations for the major awards in film, whether that be the Golden Globes, the BAFTA Awards or the Oscars themselves. Since her early start in independent cinema in 2008, at the age of 18, she showed signs of her great talent. Three years later she was nominated for an Oscar for Best Leading Actress for her role in ‘Winter’s Bone’.

Her leap to international stardom came in 2012, when she gave life to Katniss Everdeen in ‘The Hunger Games’, the successful adaptation of the novel of the same name that became a saga of four feature films, all starring the American.

In the meantime, plenty of major titles have carried her name at the forefront of the credits, including ‘The Bright Side of Things’, which led her to win the Oscar for Best Lead Actress in 2013, so far the only golden statuette of her career.

In recent years she has dipped into the production of films with ‘Causeway’ and ‘No Hard Feelings’, two Oscar-nominated pieces of work in which she also starred.
