Ryan Gosling has established himself as one of the most famous Hollywood celebrities. Considered one of the most handsome and enigmatic actors, the Ontario native has captivated the audience throughout the years and has a huge fanbase worldwide.

Gosling has a small left forearm tattoo in what seems to be a cactus. However, a few years ago, the Hollywood star said that it was a botched homemade tattoo that was originally supposed to be a monster hand dropping a bleeding heart.
Shoulder Tattoo
Gosling has some ink paying homage to The Giving Tree on his left shoulder. He said his mom often read the children’s story when he was growing up. However, when asked about it he didn’t bite his tongue and said “That story’s the worst... I don’t want to be the tree.”
Wrist Tattoo
Ryan Gosling also has a barcode ink on his left wrist, although sometimes it’s hidden under his watch, which doesn’t seem to bother the actor. “A tattoo should never be meaningful, because, at a certain point, you are going to hate it, and it might as well make you laugh”, he said in 2010.
Inner-Bicep Tattoo
Another of his tattoos can be found on his inner-bicep, which shows a woman ghost posing next to a skeleton. It’s probably one of the most iconic ones and enigmatic too, as he has never confirmed its meaning. However, many believe the design is based on a famous photo of Hollywood actor Theda Bara.
‘Esme’ Hand Tattoo
His most recent tattoo, in 2015, is the one on the knuckles of his left hand: Esme, the way he calls his daughter Esmeralda. While some believe it is a temporary tattoo, others think the ink is permanent.
