There is little available information about the salaries paid to Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough, who return as hosts of Dancing with the Stars this week.

DWTS nearing two decades on US TV

The popular reality show, which debuted on US television in 2005, is back on Tuesday for its 33rd season. Thirteen new celebrities are to be paired up with professional dancers as they attempt to follow actor Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy as DWTS champions.

In season 32 in 2023, Gomez and Chmerkovskiy won the dance contest ahead of musician Jason Mraz and Daniella Karagach, with Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix finishing third alongside Pasha Pashkov.

How long have Ribeiro, Hough been Dancing with the Stars co-hosts?

Best known to many TV viewers for his role as Carlton Banks in the 1990s NBC sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Ribeiro became a Dancing with the Stars co-host in season 21, which aired in late 2022.

Ribeiro is himself a former Dancing with the Stars contestant, having won season 19 alongside pro dancer Witney Carson. What’s more, the 52-year-old served as a guest judge in season 21.

Meanwhile, Hough is heading into her second year as Ribeiro’s Dancing with the Stars co-host, after replacing Tyra Banks at the beginning of season 32.

The 36-year-old is also a former champion of the show: on the roster of pro dancers for five seasons from 2007 to 2009, she won seasons four and five alongside celebrities Apolo Ohno and Hélio Castroneves, respectively.

Like Ribeiro, Hough has occasionally worked as a Dancing with the Stars guest judge. What’s more, she had two stints on the panel of permanent judges between 2014 and 2017.

While Ribeiro and Hough’s salaries have not been confirmed, previous hosts of the show were reportedly paid around $150,000 per episode. There are typically around 10 to 15 episodes each season.
